Socket flanges are a category of pipe flanges that can be attached by inserting a pipe into the socket end of the flange after the application of a fillet weld around the top. This kind of flange attachment us what permits not only a smooth bore but also a better flow of the media i.e fluid or gas inside of the pipe in a system.
